Ithaca Town Board Holds Special Session Addressing Northeast Drainage
February 5, 2007. The Ithaca Town Board held a special meeting to discuss the drainage problems in the Northeast, including a closed session to seek advice from the town attorney.
It is encouraging to see that our elected officials are acknowledging the drainage problems and attempting to resolve them. It is worth remembering, however, that the current stormwater problems--caused to no small degree by the Briarwood I development--would only be exacerbated by Briarwood II. When Town Engineers presented their findings to local residents in December, they inspired little confidence that the drainage problems are being adequately addressed.
