Town Board Selects Stormwater Consultant
April 26, 2007. In a special meeting, the Town Board voted to adopt the Northeast Stormwater Study Committee's recommendation, which involved hiring a Connecticut engineering consultant. The contract should be signed soon, and the study is expected to take approximately six weeks.
During Thursday's meeting, the committee was responsive to our suggestion that residents of the area be allowed to attend the preliminary meeting with the contractor. This would ensure that everyone be heard and that the contractor begins with a broad understanding of residents' concerns and the complex issues involved.
We also suggested that the contractor allocate more time to collecting and assessing information from local residents.
The study is charged, in part, with reviewing residents' drainage complaints already on file at Town Hall. Board Members assured us, however, that any concerns submitted while the study proceeds would also be taken into consideration.
