Moratorium Enacted

September 15, 2007. Last Monday night, the Town Board voted unanimously to enact a moratorium on development in the northeast portion of Ithaca. This moratorium, which will last 270 days, will give the Town an opportunity to review all relevant materials as well as commission an independent, ecological study of the area in order to determine if a change to Conservation Zoning might be appropriate. The proposed Briarwood II development cannot be given final approval while the moratorium is in effect.
